Cookie policy
Which cookies and browser storage this site uses, what each one does and how long it lasts.
Last updated:No cookies for essential features
Essential preferences use browser local storage rather than cookies: devtools-lang (interface language), devtools-lang-banner-dismissed (language suggestion banner), wetool-sidebar-width and wetool-sidebar-collapsed (sidebar layout) and wetool-analytics-consent (your analytics choice). They remain until you clear site data. JSON and XML history stays in session storage for the current tab only and is erased when that tab closes; turning on persistent history moves it to local storage, where it expires after 7 days. None of this leaves your device or feeds advertising.
Analytics cookies
Google Analytics, provided by Google, is loaded by default. It sets two first-party cookies: _ga, which distinguishes visitors, and _ga_KZPHD54T6R, which keeps session state. Both are set to last up to 2 years, although browsers such as Chrome cap them at 400 days. IP anonymisation is enabled, advertising storage and ad personalisation stay disabled, and tool input is never sent to analytics.
Managing analytics
Open Privacy settings in the footer to allow or withdraw analytics at any time. Withdrawing disables analytics immediately and deletes _ga and _ga_KZPHD54T6R. You can also delete cookies and site data for this site in your browser; removing the stored record restores the default, which is analytics on.
